Julie had a Vestibular Schwannoma, which is a tumor generating from the sheathing of the Vestibular, or balance, nerve. It was a large (2.7 cm) tumor originating in her right inner ear. The surgery to remove it, which took place on March 27th, lasted nearly eleven hours. But, by all accounts, it seems to have been very successful. This blog is a tool for friends and family to follow the progress of her surgery and recovery. Photo by Tina Amerson

Julie,
from what I remember as a kid, "beans are good for the heart." Not sure what legumes are good for the noggin. That being said you deserve any food you want lady!!

great job challenging yourself to type. sounds like they aren't letting you have the spa vacation you dreamed of at the hospital--lying in bed all day eating creampuffs and getting massages...seems like you're making wonderful progress--so happy for you! If you're still there tomorrow, we could check in and bring you whatever food you'd like...LOL, eileen
I'm so impressed with your progress. You are amazing. A big thank you to Chris for keeping us all informed. I wait each day for the update. Hope you got the flowers. Sorry I didn't send beans!
Beans...I'm not sure if they're allowed on hospital premises (with all those oxygen tanks around)...
I know - that was REALLY pathetic! (Why is making pre-pubescent jokes still so uplifting @ times?!?!)
I'll be back in town tomorrow working on getting Kristy's cats to Emancipet & relocated & will try to call/come by - if you're up to it. (Today I should have just stayed in bed!)
Hope you get a good night of rest!
Those pain medications will do that to you. Beans rule!
JULIE

we all wish you the very very best!
would love to come visit, if it wasn't so far =[
keep us updated and take good care of yourself!
much love
DIANA
