She's out!!!!

I was gettin' kinda nervous there...but she's out, and everything seems to have gone well. Apparently the tumor was really stuck on the facial nerve, brain stem, and several crucial arteries.  The Neuro-otologist said he'd never seen one so attached; but they had a really strong fire on the facial nerve when they closed.  They had to leave just a little of the tumor behind to keep from damaging anything. But they're confident that anything left behind is not viable enough to start growing back.

She's in ICU now; but she's been under for a long time, and she'll be waking up slowly.  Visiting hours are starting, so I'm hoping to at least get a peek at her.  But I don't expect her to be responsive at all tonight.  They'll watch her closely overnight for potential side effects and give her a CAT scan tomorrow.  If that's all clear, she'll move to a regular room.

Thanks again to everyone for their interest and support.  We're not completely out of the woods yet, but it's looking really good.  Still, please keep those prayers and good thoughts coming.  I'll post more tomorrow morning.

Ya'll have been in my thoughts all day...My day ended as usual...Kristen stopping by to hug and say see you later. Today's hug was different. It was longer and the hug was tighter. She said, "Mom had her surgery today." I told her I know and to keep thinking good thoughts for her. Our hug lasted a bit more and then she smiled and off she went...We love you guys! Give Jules a hug and kiss for me! Kären Linam

Oh, Julie! I can't imagine. So sorry I didn't get to see this and write you BEFORE your "blue agave." I've just spend the week in ICU with my dad, so I am imagining you there and will pray for you. Psalm 34 is one of my favorites - got me through several tough & overwhelming times. Here are a few verses...

I sought the Lord, and He answered me.
He delivered me from all my fears. . .
Those who look to him are radiant!
