Thanksgiving!

Hi Gang! We just got Back from Dallas, where we had a few festive days. First, we had a phenomenal Thanksgiving dinner. It was a combined effort from Diane (who always puts on a spectacular meal) and Uncle (Chef) Brad, who added touches like the Sweet potato casserole to make it truly memorable. Then Friday, we went to Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass Gallery to see their current ornament show. I suspect they always treat their clients and artists pretty well, but I feel so special when I walk in there. They receive me and my ornaments with excitement, make a fuss over me, and show me other artists new work with the enthusiasm only true glass aficionados display. Then, as a continuation of the indulgence, we went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday, which occurs Monday. This is my first birthday since surgery, and it has certain implications, which my family seems to "get", so we had a thoroughly good time! I came back ready to get to the task of decorating for Christmas, but realize I need to blow glass in ernest for the holidays, then adorn the house. My mom has arrived from Minnesota, and will help with the house so that I can put my nose to the grindstone, so to speak, although we watched a Victor Borge special on PBS today! So in throughout your hectic holidays, find some true merriment, and always look for the angels - 2008 ornament reference: photo alongside...
Holiday Love,
Jules

Hey Jules - glad to hear your Thanksgiving and birthday were so much fun! And, very happy to hear that the magficigant Josie doesn't have cancer! As one who has spent countless thousands on the health and well-being of our pets, I can so relate to your concerns. Willie was just going through our finances and commented animal "maintenace" is our second highest household expense. HA!

When do we get to see some pictures of your ornaments???

Hello Julie,
I guess I didn't realize the whole story behind Josie's heath issues, so her current medical story changed in depth for me. Hail to the Queen!

The animal rhymes are something that has happened around here when the kids were small, and that I take upon myself to keep ongoing. Note, the rhymes in this household don't always connect with the original name, but sometimes relate to a personality characteristic.

Biddy the cat is "Biddy Bowskin, la Mouskin", Gunther (keep in mind rhyming with Gunther is difficult) is "Biggie Two Shoes", and the latest controversial addition to the menagerie,Tosha (short for Santosha, meaning contentment) who seems to be part Main Coon Cat, is "Pamper and Scamper you Camper!". And homage to our late Jojo, whom we lost a year ago, he had many names, one of which was "Hobee Won Konobee".
In gratitude to our animal friends!
